We do not walk alone
Today's post is born from an experience I had with Jesus this morning and from a conversation I've been having with Him regarding the purpose of this blog. First I'd like to tell you about what happened this morning, and then I'm going to share with you what Holy Spirit is saying to me about why He wanted a blog.
- Jesus makes His home inside of us and goes everywhere with us
I was having communion with the Lord in my usual place at the dining room table early this morning. I got up to pull out my son's chair because that is where I picture Jesus sitting directly across from me while we break bread together. I often stretch out my hands across the table to clasp hands with Jesus but this morning something unique happened.
My hands began to tingle with energy, and I got a picture of Jesus pouring Himself into me. No longer was I picturing Him across from me because I felt Him fully manifested inside of me. And all of a sudden I became aware of seeing everything through His eyes. I looked down at the communion elements in my hands, and I saw them through His eyes. I was aware of His presence inside of me in a way I have never been before.
When I got up from the table I realized He was walking around on my legs. I picked up some dishes and put them in the kitchen because I had the sense that Jesus wanted to clean that area up. Then later as I went for a walk around my block, I thought, "Of course You give me everywhere I set my feet. These feet are carrying You around my neighborhood and everywhere I go, You have entered in. Everywhere I am, Your kingdom has come because You have come --through me."
We see this truth again and again in the Bible but how often are we aware of Jesus within us hugging our spouses and children with our arms and speaking words of edification through our lips?
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20 NKJV
“At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”” John 14:20-21 NKJV
Let us be filled with wonder again at the incredible truth that Jesus is living inside us and let us live all day every day a life worthy of our calling, submitting our wills to His and letting Him live through us as we see, say and do only what the Father sees, says and does.
- Together we are the body of Christ on earth. We are not separate from each other and we do not walk alone
“For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.” Romans 12:4-8 NKJV
You may have noticed that this time, I am dividing the post into sections. This is because I want to make it easier to comment on. Holy Spirit has continued to reveal to me why He wanted a blog. In some ways it doesn't makes sense. Why me? A nobody? Well the answer is twofold: because I listen to His voice and because I'm willing. That's all He needs.
I also have friends who listen and are led by Holy Spirit's voice. When I hear something from the Lord, I reach out to them, and they tell me what He has been speaking to them on the same theme, and together we have a much broader understanding of what He is saying.
This is the purpose of this blog. It is to gather a community of believers who listen and are led by the Lord. I will write what He is speaking to me, and I will try to use simple language and sentence structure. The point isn't to be clever or well-composed. It is to communicate as clearly as I can, what I am hearing from the Lord. And then, I want to hear from you, what the Lord is speaking to you about that same theme.
- Does God speak to you through seeing repetitive numbers?
For example, the Lord speaks to me through repeating numbers. Does He speak to you that way? If so, has He led you to specific verses? I know that when I see 1:11 the Lord is reminding me that He is about to bless me with the thousandfold blessing of Deuternomy 1:11.
And when I see 10:10 He is communicating to me (from John 10:10) that everywhere the enemy has come into my life to steal, kill and destroy, Jesus is bringing me abundant life.
Recently I have been seeing 3's. Yesterday at 3:33 I looked down at my phone and saw that my battery was at 33%. This number is much less familiar to me. I'd love your thoughts and experience with this number. I do have one verse He gave me a year ago for repetitive 3s. So I believe He is encouraging me that He will give me supernatural wisdom and discernment based on Jeremiah 33:3
"Call to me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know." Jeremiah 33:3 NKJV
- Many are receiving a link to my blog for the first time today. Here's why...
My big ask is for you to join me on this adventure. Become a subscriber. I am reaching out to those I know hear from the Lord and seek His face. Some of you are prophets but you do not need to be called as a prophet to prophecy. The Lord is pouring out His Spirit on all flesh and we are all dreaming dreams, seeing visions and hearing His voice through the scriptures.
“... “By the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established.”” II Corinthians 13:1b NKJV
God confirms what He is speaking to us and encourages us that we are indeed hearing His voice when we realize that others are also hearing Him speaking about the exact same things. Let us spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
If you are getting words from the Lord, and You would like to be able to post some time, let me know. I can add you as a contributor.
Please consider subscribing to this blog and commenting on the posts. I will try to organize my posts in sections so you can reference a section by putting the number of that section in your comment.
I will say this - it may seem optional right now to have a place to gather the words the Lord is speaking to His body. But we are navigating increasingly difficult waters. And there are a lot of voices. We are only interested in what God has to say about the times we live in, and there will be times when being clear about His message to the body will mean the difference between life and death. Are you clear on the times we're living in? When I hear the same message again and again that right now we have time to build Goshen but that we are only a few years out from a time of famine, then I know God is speaking through His prophets and I know what I need to be doing. Let's make sure we are not caught unawares.
If you join, you will know when I or someone else posts, and you will be able to comment. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on what I've shared today. If you've been unusally aware of Jesus moving about through you of late, comment on section 1. If you have a word about us working together as the body of Christ, comment on section 2. If God communicates to you through repetitive numbers, please comment on section 3 (especially if you have a word about what 333 means.) And if you are interested in discerning the voice of the Lord together, subscribe to this blog and comment your thoughts on section 4.
I hope to post at least once a week, but more if the Lord leads. I'd also like to share Holy Spirit-inspired art or poetry so please let me know if you have any to share. Join me on this adventure as we follow the Lord. Let's operate in a buddy system and make sure we never walk alone.
Amen, Lord! Let it be to your servant as You have spoken.
